Yikes! What once was as abundant as a napkin next to your plate, the complimentary wooden chopstick sees a grim future. According to CNN.com, China is starting a 5% tax on exportation of chopsticks in light of a deforestation problem. Free wooden chopsticks from your asian waitress may be a thing of the past! Imagine the impact:

1) Restaurants will charge you money if you break your complimentary wooden chopstick, even though they already break 75% of the time!
2) Parties will have RSVP's with the line "BYOC".
3) Just when we thought so few people knew how to use chopsticks, the numbers will drop even lower.
4) People in Asian countries will have to learn how to use the fork!

Before reading my friend's post, I thought that I was the only one that thought that FOX news was overly dramatic. It caught my attention when someone i was subletting my Davis apt to had scolded me for having cnn.com as my home page... calling it "Clinton News Network". (Clearly, he was not democratic. He was from Montana... anyways, I digress). So, I was thinking, ok, maybe i was unfairly brainwashed into thinking that George W Bush was a terrible candidate because of the news I read. I tried FOX news out. What happened then was shocking.

I flipped to the channel, and immediately, I see in bright red, filling up the tv screen. "FOX NEWS ALERT!" with the background sound effects paralleling that of a fist-clenching, heart-racing action movie. I was thinking "Holy Davis cows Batman! We must be at war! And the terrorists must have attacked the homeland!" . I intently watch on... "MICHAEL JACKSON IN COURT", (in all caps of course).

... Boy did i feel like a loser.

Losing all credibility, I recalled all my original beliefs. Bush sucks. I hate FOX news. And Montana-ians are sheltered mountain people... right up there with the Eureka-ians... but i digress. (jk Paul!)

This one's crazy. A somewhat typical "put me in coach" scenario with an extreme not-so-typical outcome. Sure, 20 points at a high school game -- "It's possible", you might say. Try tossing in 'manager', and 'four minutes', and even 'autism'. Now that's a feat. Stories like this can teach life-long lessons for kids anywhere. I really have nothing witty to say about this video. You just have to watch it for yourself...

Hi all,

So I just came back my missionary work in China, after I had helped feed the starving children in Kenya, but not before I had went to rally for peace in Israel, which was immediately after I spent some time researching for a cure for cancer in England... so excuse me for my five month hiatus from this blog!!! (Now please stop the nagging emails you avid readers!) ;)

Back to what i was saying, so I had just travelled the world and the first feeling I get when I'm back home is some retro-active culture shock. So much has happened in the past 5 months that I never thought would happen. Ipods are smaller than a deck of cards?? Free wireless internet for the entire Mountain View, CA?? Ron Artest traded for Peja Stojakovic?? E*TRADE stock broke $23??? A movie about gay men in the country-side, co-starring that pudgy chick from Dawson's Creek, with a one-liner "I wish I knew how to quit youuu!" (which I outrightly laughed at during the previews) dominates the Golden Globes?? A new genre of movie has been created... and spinoffs are already in the works...

That's right. You better appreciate us now before we disappear -- the male of the species that is.

According to an article on CNN.com, the male Y chromosome will stick around for a while and not fall extinct as previously thought. There was a study that the "Y" chromosome is degrading over time, and that one day, the male species could be doomed... in 10 million years.

You might be thinking... "That's crazy. That's a really long time from now!" But that may be the wrong way to approach it. Obviously, if CNN is reporting it, this is a very serious issue. Instead, we don't know who's right or wrong. Studies are never accurate, right? We can't necessarily throw out the possibility that tomorrow, us boys won't be here for you girls! So I think you girls should be nice to us now... because we're a dying species, driven to extinction. You may not miss us now, but when we're gone, who's going to drive you to your stinking shopping mall!

Since when was Top Secret Clearance granted to the general United States populous? Because today's article proves just that. Porter Goss, chief of the CIA, conjured an excellent idea of notifying the world that we have an excellent idea of where Bin Laden 'bin hidin. Might as well just call up Bin Laden on his cell phone and tell him, "Hey buddy. We might catch you, so maybe you should find a new hiding place!"

So we've been feeling tremors out here in the Golden State of California -- four heavy ones in the last week to be precise. Maybe somebody's trying to tell us something. Or maybe it's time to buy the lottery because California is feeling pretty lucky! Here's a CNN article on our recent 'misfortune'.

One interesting thing to point out is that not one of these four quakes was in the Greater Bay Area, which is where i'm residing. To me, this is not a good sign. We haven't felt one in the bay area for quite some time now. If you don't relate to my fear, let me put it this way... It's kinda like having a really bad gastro-intestinal day. You, or someone you love, is holding a fart for a really, REALLY long time. Only you know that eventually, it's gotta come out. Then one moment later... when you're least expecting it... BAM, it hits you, and it's BAAAD. You know what i mean? Scary, huh? We're living in fear here I tell yah.

Just watched Star Wars: Return of the Sith on opening day. (No, not at midnight... you freak). Overall, it was much better than Episode 1 or 2 in my opinion. However, the cheese was still there -- G. Lucas style. And the award for Best Cheese goes to the following exchange between Anakin and Padme. Either it's straight cheese, or I'm just biased that Natalie Portman is confessing her love for someone other than me... but I digress. Nevertheless, I think this particular movie critic I came across over the web, best reflects the heart and emotion of the audience as it played on...

Man: 'You're so beautiful.'
Woman: 'It's only because I'm so in love.'
Man: 'No, it's because I'm so in love with you.'
Me: 'Man oh man.'

In light of so many job changes in the tech industry, I came across an article that brings to light an unlikely, but interesting, alternative to your everyday cubicle. It says that ... "McDonald's was recognized as one of the Top 25 Best Companies to Work for in Latin America." O_o
Either McD's is paying really well in Latin America, or we Americans have our priorities all wacked while bashing the fash food industry as a career option. Forget Google or Yahoo!. I'm Lovin' It!

Ok, so here I am at a new site once again. Maybe it's because I lack a sense of self-identity that I keep trying to redefine myself by jumping on yet another template-driven, bandwagon of a blog site. Or maybe it's because I'm trying to rekindle the blogging flame inside me by trying something new so that I may once again enjoy mashing a bunch of words together and make some sort of sense that will enlighten my readers (all two or three of you). Or maybe it's because I am somehow attached at the hip of a gentleman named Patrick Li and our lives have inevitably become intertwined (school, work, hair-stylist, now blog website) over the last eight years of our kinship. Or maybe it's because I'm subconsciously a google fan, and everything in life is revolved around google and its subsidaries (ain't that the truth these days!). It's probably the former of the four. *sigh* I'm a loser. hahah
